This incredible bridge spans Bixby Creek and is situated approximately 15 to 18 miles south of the picturesque towns of Carmel and Monterey. An iconic architectural wonder, Bixby Bridge has captured the hearts of countless visitors and photographers since it opened in 1932.
The bridge exemplifies the elegance of a single-span concrete arch design and boasts impressive dimensions. Had the chance to take a day off in Salina, CA, so I headed to the US-1 coastal highway to visit Big Sur. I had enough film for 6 shots on 4×5 for the day and the bridge at sunset was planned to be my last shot. by chance, this was the better shot, spotted on the way back to the car and captured on my phone. So much for scouting the area for the best shot, before setting up the big camera.
