I had the chance to meet up with a new friend, Patrick Rapp, of Tucson, when we met up for a hike into Great Basin National Park. We were wanting to photograph the Bristol Cone Pine Trees. This was located on the trail to the glacier, at an elevation above 10,000 feet.

The location brought to mind the Lord of the Rings, as Patrick and I were on our own Fellowship Quest, each carrying a 4×5 camera.
