In the beginning, she was my niece. Her mother was in the Air Force and stationed in Hampton, VA. I was stationed across the bay in Norfolk, VA. for a period in 1980 and then in the end of 1981-early 1982, I had the fortunate to spend time with her as her uncle.

The 8×10 was shot at breakfast shortly before my transfer, when she was 4. She joined the family in Utah as a teen and as an adult, I got to know her again. Years later she asked me to become her Father Figure. I asked her to find this 8×10, so we could make the connection from her being my niece to being my daughter. Now and Then shows the child and now the woman, just over 40 years later (never ask a Lady her age).
